- The weather
- None of their friends play golf
- Nobody in their family plays golf
- They find it too difficult to enjoy
- They do not see rapid improvement
- They do not get to play on a proper course
- Golf clubs can be unwelcoming or intimidating for kids
- Traditional courses are too long for younger kids
- It is too expensive
- The rise in popularity of X Box's and play-stations etc
This is why I believe my Junior Academy is so successful, as it eradicates every one of these barriers to kids getting into golf. Lessons can go ahead in any weather, as the coaching area at the driving range can be closed off to inclement weather, and are set at a level which makes it easy to understand and kids can see themselves improving from week to week.
Kids get to learn and practice on the range and the course, and even compete in a competition on the specially modified course, in an establishment that is very welcoming and child friendly.
Group coaching helps keep the cost down, lets kids make new friends and we even introduce aspects of their other interests into the golf coaching - we even do "the floss" as part of the warm up routine!
